Locate therapists who treat Lipedema

The LF Provider Directory is designed to help people with Lipedema, their healthcare providers, and the broader Lipedema community identify therapists who have told us they treat Lipedema in their clinical practice.

The goal of the Directory is to empower Lipedema patients and clinicians to locate therapists treating Lipedema patients in their area. We believe access to therapists serves as a benefit to our community and will help patients take more effective action in the management and/or treatment of their condition.

If you have Lipedema or are a caregiver, we highly recommend using the Provider Directory alongside the Patient Self-Advocacy Guide, which has helpful tips for evaluating providers, establishing initial relationships, and preparing for your first appointment. 

Who is included in the Provider Directory?

As therapists are one of the few clinical specialties offered Lipedema-specific training, and they play a central role in the Lipedema care ecosystem, we have focused the initial build-out of the Provider Directory on therapists. We plan to add additional specialties to the Directory soon. If you know of other providers who would be a good fit for future Provider Directory inclusion, please encourage them to sign-up for the LF Newsletter for updates about expansion.

We rely on self-reported information from individual therapists listed in the Directory regarding their training, experience, and certifications. To be included in our Provider Directory, a therapist must have self-reported their therapist-specific credentials, state licensure number, and confirmation that they currently treat Lipedema patients. Although LF makes reasonable efforts to maintain up-to-date information in its Provider Directory database, LF does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose of the information in this database, or in any way endorse the individuals included therein. The above warranty is the only warranty of any kind, either express or implied.

Please note that this directory is not comprehensive or inclusive of all therapists who treat Lipedema. Our directory features a list of healthcare providers who have indicated their expertise in treating Lipedema.

The path to Lipedema diagnosis and treatment can be long. Since there is no easy laboratory or imaging test for Lipedema, there is also no single profession that administers the diagnosis.
